And there was the animated series based on the remake. Yeah…
And interestingly enough, The Mummy (also by Universal) has a similiar thing.
One movie, it’s three sequels, and a spoof (probably the best of the whole thing). Then a seperate movie series came along (will not be mentioned again). Then a remake with two sequels with a possible third on the way. And a spin-off (with Dwanye) that has it’s own sequel. And I won’t get started on Dracula, Frankenstein’s Monster, or the other movie monsters from.
« The Thing » (1982) was a semi-remake of « The Thing from Another World » (1951) which was based on the story « Who Goes There? » (1938) written by John W. Campbell (aka Don A. Stuart). The main story is the same. Alien crashes in the cold, scientists wake it up, the Thing kills off most of said scientists, who somehow manages to do it in, leaving the end filled with suspense.
In short, this would be a prequal of a remake of an adaptation of a book.

@TwinVisionFilms I think that if they gave that bit of important detail away about it. then there’s probably more than likely more other serious scenes that will make the movie better.
