@rmshifthotlap re-watch the video. it doesn’t do that at all. she’s talking to him because his reputation is one of a chauvinist, she never even uses the word « man » or « men » once. she just lists the serious inequalities that the world causes against women. which is exactly what you asked.
@redreaper2020 spare me the thoughts of some masculist website. i don’t care for the mind-blind rants of angry men who think the world revolves around them. some men are unhappy but the fact is women aren’t here to please you, they’re here to exercise self-determination over their lives, just like men. it’s clear you ignore points which are inconvenient and only insult in response. stop self-glorifying yourself, you’re just another ranting mansplainer masculist.
I am for gender equality, but I don’t like how this video attacks males instead of protecting females.
@Hardtdoneby Newsflash, men have breasts too. Breast cancer affects both genders.
@paintedxbird um, you’re retarded.
Change of tactics. What feminism has done for women: We have record numbers of professional women burning out by 30, declining birthrates, a rise in single mothers, a decline in vital « male-dominated » fields like engineering, a media so biased and dumb it rots your brain, kids who grow up w/ less parental oversight, and the tried-and-true option of a woman staying home with kids is no longer practical.
Now tell me men have it equal. BULLSHIT.
@Hardtdoneby lots of studies have different conclusions with all gender sensitive topics. you can find ones which show either gender as disadvantaged. mainstream views are based on the fact that the weight of evidence sides with feminists but it remains controversial. no one said bad things happening to men isnt important. the videos called equals. extreme poverty is feminised so its important to address factors which shift harm disproportionately to women or focus more help on them
@Hardtdoneby i’ve argued these points for ages on here before, they all have a source. WeAreEquals has cited them before in the comments here a months ago, probably got bored of dealing with the snide « make me a sammich » masculists who refused to believe them. from what i remember the 2/3rds thing was based on UN time surveys of people worldwide. it’s based on unpaid work. there’s paternity leave in the UK, feminists are for parental leave for all, not against it.
the money their spouses earn undoubtedly goes to providing for both of them. Even if it’s true, which I doubt (« London School of Economics sociologist Catherine Hakim’s research shows that when both paid work and unpaid duties such as housework, care and voluntary work are taken into account, men do pull their own weight. ») In addition, 70 million girls are deprived of a basic education, but 44 million (or more) boys also are. But they’re of no significance, correct? Not even a mention?
@paintedxbird Everyone is subject to confirmation bias, including supporters of this video. I wrote an essay analyzing the propaganda elements of it, and researched all of the statistics mentioned in it — less than half had a source, and of the ones that did around half were wrong or omitted stats. Losing jobs due to pregnancy? Why is there often no paternity leave? If men and women are equal, do they not love their children equally? 2/3 of work? Perhaps unpaid housework, though…
@redreaper2020 the womans equated to an object and the « nice guy »’s angry because he thinks hes entitled to her. men who actually care would respect womens choice because real beliefs are held when theres no benefit. your assertion’s based on generalisations and disregards girls perspectives. if you oppose women youre certain to get negativity/reinforce feminism. youve probably had bad experiences, but it’s best to forgive/understand rather than be angry. never too late for peace
@Hardtdoneby it’s called confirmation bias.
@redreaper2020 can only judge on what i see. custody is based on attachment theory (psychology) e.g who can invest the support to the child which is why men lose more often as they’re more career focused. it’s a fair method of judgement that’s supported by children’s advocates. it’s not for women’s benefit. ofc women need money if you’re a homemaker you’ve no transferable skills so get screwed in divorce without alimony because society doesn’t value women’s sacrifices at all.
I’m not going to respond to every comment, as there are far too many for the character limit. What’s bothering me the most in this discussion is the gross generalities — ‘all men’, ‘all women’. That’s essentially the most sexist position a person can take. I said what I did because I feel that the equal rights battle has gone farther than equality — the rights of men are being overlooked. I’m a teenager, and I see sexism everywhere — mostly, in my generation, towards males.
@paintedxbird Actually, believe it or not, men are just as capable of charm; I’m nice to be around and useful.
Men aren’t treated like equals anymore. With two equal parents getting a divorce, see which one gets the kid. See who gets the house. Even if the man works and the woman does nothing, the woman still gets half the property from the marriage. A man treats a woman like gold; yet she still fucks bad boys. So we can be bad boys, or we can be slaves. I choose the former.
