Nicolas Cage’s performance in this movie is very comparable to Christian Bale’s in « American Psycho. » Over the top yet appropriate for the character and the tone of the movie. And, of course, often very funny as well.

@ThriceDog Calling his performance in Leaving Las Vegas as fantastic is giving him way too much praise. It was certainly his best performance but it certainly was not a fantastic performance or anywhere near being one.

@YB71KV I agree, but there’s something admirable about that in a way.. Christopher Walken does the smae, he’ll take any film if he’s not currently busy because he loves working, he’s probably just got alot luckier than Cage has
@ThriceDog But the problem with Nicholas Cage is he must chose his scripts by dart board. I am assuming he needs the money and that is why he takes all these roles. I agree he is a good actor but he needs a better agent or just be a little more selective. If he did that I am sure he would not get bashed as much as he does.
The Wicker Man is definately Nic Cage’s worst film and one of the worst remakes ever, but I’d be lying if I didn’t say it makes a fantastic comedy.
